RESULTS FOR LOCHIEL TELEVISION RECEPTION
24 Feb 2017
Federal Member for Eden-Monaro, Mike Kelly, was recently alerted to the fact there were a number concerned residents who were experiencing poor reception on free-to-air television channels in Lochiel.
Dr Kelly acted promptly and contacted the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to investigate the situation.
“After contacting the ACMA, I am pleased to advise that the community member who raised the issue has now had application for improved television reception approved after initially being declined”, said Dr Kelly.
“The ACMA also advised me that they are happy to assist any locals with television reception issues. If you’re experiencing poor television reception please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will pass on your details”.
Television reception across the region is a complex issue that can be impacted by such things as terrain, foliage, vegetation or nearby obstructions.
Residents who continue to experience television reception issues in Lochiel should contact an experienced antenna installer to see if Viewers Access Satellite Television (VAST) may be the best option. The VAST service is a good alternative for those viewers who cannot receive adequate reception from existing terrestrial transmitters.
Further information regarding television reception can be made by contacting the ACMA on 1300 850 115 or email email@example.com.
